Paleo Mississippi Pot Roast

Recipe found on Mary’s Whole Life https://www.maryswholelife.com/paleo-mississippi-pot-roast/

Mississippi Pot Roast is what I’m eating for dinner tonight! If I’m going to be stuck at home, I’m going to make sure it smells delicious in the house. The aroma alone makes this recipe worth trying. This is one of my favorite recipes to make when I want something low maintenance and healthy.

Paleo Mississippi Pot Roast

My first go at making a Mississippi Pot Roast included a packet of Au Jus, a whole stick of butter and a packet of Ranch dressing mix. Now, don’t get me wrong, saying something negative about Ranch is almost sacrilegious. But the truth is my stomach doesn’t always agree. This roast is always a crowd pleaser with both my husband and kids so I wanted to find a healthier option that didn’t leave me regretting it the next day. Well Mary’s Whole Life came to my rescue. I was scrolling through instagram one day and her posts had me salivating at first glance.

This is my first time mentioning her, but I’m sure she will be a frequent flyer on the Reluctant Food Critic. https://laughloudmama.com/the-reluctant-food-critic/. Her recipes are Whole30, Paleo friendly and not to mention delicious. I have yet to make one of her recipes that didn’t become a staple in our home. While I don’t follow either Whole30 or Paleo diets, I do find that her recipes make healthier substitutes that are in line with what work for my body.

After working with an functional medicine doctor to alleviate my son’s migraines and my own abdominal discomfort, I have found that eliminating high inflammatory foods as much as possible works best for us. If you have similar sensitivities or food allergies I suggest you check out her website.

Tonight our Mississippi Roast will be paired with mashed red potatoes and roasted broccoli. Yum!! We are a family of 5 but this recipe usually leaves us with enough servings for leftover night. So, while you’re meal planning before your next grocery run, check out Mary’s Whole Life for some inspiration. You won’t be disappointed.
